How GST Calculation Works in India

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax applied broadly across India. For local sales within the same state (Intra-state), it is divided into **CGST** (Central) and **SGST** (State) equally.

GST Inclusive

When a price (like ₹118) includes 18% GST:
Base = 118 / (1 + 0.18) = ₹100
GST = ₹18

GST Exclusive

When a price is ₹100 and you add 18% GST:
GST = 100 x 0.18 = ₹18
Total = ₹118
